KJV vs. "Modern Versions"
NIV, ASV, NLT, Living, etc.
Who is right? Does it really matter?

► Many Bible
Verses in "modern" versions are different from the King James Version of
the Bible.
► These "modern versions" are supposed to be "easier" to read, but are
they accurate?
► Have these modern versions changed God's words completely?
► If they are different, who is right? Does it really matter?
1) God’s word is His will for your life.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, "Not
every one
that saith
unto
me,
Lord,
Lord,
shall
enter into
the
kingdom
of
heaven;
but
he that doeth
the
will
of
my
Father
which
is
in
heaven."
Jesus prayed in Matthew 6:10, " Thy
kingdom
come.
Thy
will
be
done
in
earth,
as
it
is
in
heaven."
• But, if we do not have an accurate Bible, how
will we even know God's will? How can we pray God's will?
• If they change the original meanings of the
Bible, they are trying to change God's will.
• We cannot change the message of the truth. We
must allow the message of the truth to change us.
2) God's voice always lines up
with His words in the Bible.
Jesus said, "My
sheep
hear
my
voice,
and I
know
them,
and
they
follow
me...And I
give
unto
them
eternal
life;
and they
shall
never
perish,
neither
shall
any
man pluck
them
out of
my
hand
(John
10:27-28)."
• Without an accurate word, how can we know if
we hear the voice of Jesus?
• How can we discern if the voice we hear is
God's or the devil's deception? How can we be Spirit led?
