●
ADORATION – Praise the Lord Jesus! He is unlimited, almighty,
all-powerful, and all-knowing. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning
and the end. He is the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. The name of
Jesus is above all names. He is the solution to any problem, and He is
bigger than any obstacle you will ever face.
●
CONFESSION – we confess our sins – seeking God’s mercy. Admitting we
have a need for God. Un-confessed sin can stand in the way of our other
prayers.
●
THANKSGIVING – Thanking God for all he has done (or will do) for us.
Thanking God for all He means to us. We should always be thankful, even for the little things.
●
SUPPLICATION – Making petitions or requests to God for yourself
and/or others. By praying, we are relying on God and not ourselves.
When we are willing to pray for everything, we are willing to include God in
everything. We can do much more with God than without Him. Jesus
is bigger than any obstacle we face.
OTHER
TYPES OF PRAYER:
·
INTERCESSION – Prayer for someone else. Selfless, or self-giving
prayer.
·
AFFIRMATION – Affirm what God says in His word, the Bible.
·
POSITIVE – Faith-Filled, Biblical, and focused on solutions!
Believing that God is bigger than any obstacle.
·
NEGATIVE – Fear-Filled, un-Biblical, and focused on problems. Many times
negative prayers include false humility - instead
of believing that God can do all through them.
·
LISTENING PRAYER – When we open our hearts and minds to hear from God
- in patience and quietness.
·
MEDITATION – consciously think deep about something (Prayer, Bible Verses,
what God may be saying to us, etc).
·
SINGING PRAYER – songs or hymns directed towards God can become a form of prayer
