Key #3 for
Christian Success is:
Attend
Church!
(Associate
with Successful People and Pray with Others)
 |
Jesus
said, "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth
as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them
of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered
together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew
18:19-20)." |
If a person
wants to succeed, they need to associate with people who have already
succeeded. Find the right mentors. It is important to have a
great circle of influence.
Proverbs 13:20 says, "He that walketh
with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."
Associate every
week with positive, faith-filled, success minded Christians (attend
church, go to meetings, etc).
Having the
right mentors and friends can make you stronger. It is important to
have Christian friends who will support and encourage you. Your
closest friends should bring God’s best out of you, and you should bring
God’s best out of them.
Most people want friends.
To get friends, you must BE a friend.
Proverbs 18:24 says, “A man that hath friends must show
himself friendly…” Develop good people skills. Be a good listener.
Take your eyes off of yourself, and put them on others. Be a
giver. A real friend is one who walks IN when the rest of the world walks
out.
The most important ingredient in the “recipe” for
friendship is trust. To gain trust, always be trustworthy and
accountable. The “glue” that holds the friendship together is love.
Sometimes loving someone means forgiveness. Nobody is perfect,
and there will be times when your friends mess up. It has been said,
“Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble
remembering how to fly.” If we forgive others, then God will also
forgive us (Matthew 6:14-15).

Have a Great Circle of Counsel: |
It is a scientific fact:
Fish will grow based on the size
of the fish tank they are in. Find a team of people who will make you
stretch and grow. When you are totally focused, sometimes it can create
blindness. Others can see things about yourself that you cannot see.
Correction from your friends is as necessary as comfort. It is good to
have a “mastermind group”. Cheerleaders are great to have, but coaches
win games.
Proverbs 11:14 says,
“where no counsel is, the people fall:
but in the multitude of consellors there is safety”
If
you are a born-again Christian, you have become part of the "family of
God". The Bible says, "those that be planted in the house of the
LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God (Psalms 92:13)." Find a
good church and some good "mentors" that can help you stretch and grow
into the person God has created you to be.
When you are going
through hard times it is always good to have people to help support you.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one; because they have a
good reward for their labor. (10) For if they fall, the one will lift up
his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not
another to help him up.”
